Not Ready Yet

My little sister is not ready to get on the blog yet.  She thinks mom and gramma have some more proving to do before she lets down her guard.  I told her to take her time and that she was in a safe and loving home for the rest of her life.

Mom has decided to name her Gracie.  She said she needed at least one Grace that will listen to her.  Gramma's name is Grace.  It was pretty funny.

We took Gracie to the vet the other day and she checked out fine.  No heart worms or other medical issues but a couple of hot spots, just like Lady II had when we first brought her home (but not as bad).  I had to tell mom that Gracie needs a dental cleaning because her breath smells like Keepers butt ;0 shhhhh, don't tell Keeper I said that. 

A Little Sister For Me!

Mom did it.  She went this morning for a car ride with gramma and came back home with a little sister for me.  There was a lot of commotion between mom and gramma because they were told she was a 3 year old boy and they got the surprise when giving her a bath that she wasn't.
Mom quickly called my friend's, Sherman and Essex' Dad, Joe, because she was worried that maybe my new sister was the missing "Dixie" but mom went to the site Joe had and she didn't match the pictures.
Turns out the dog dad really didn't know because the dog belonged to the ex wife.  She wasn't giving her the attention she deserved so he rescued her and due to his work schedule re-homed her.

Meet my sister, Lassie.  I know, I know but we didn't name her.  Mom is trying to give her a fitting name.  Right now she is leaning towards Carmella.  I have to teach her how to log onto the blog so maybe in another week, until then I will work on showing her how we do things here...Eat, sleep, walk, pee/poop, sleep, eat, sleep...

Missing Lady II

While mom was in the shower I decided to get on the computer and look at some pictures of Lady II and I.  This one is one of my favorites of us.  Mom of course played with some fake posters app, and I love it!

Still no word on my new brother or sister.  Contacted a few breeders and rescues to find the perfect brother or sister.

Best start to a new year!

Mom has been trying to figure out how to load pictures but she is having trouble so I will give you the update. 

So far 2013 is turning out GREAT!

All Kittens have been adopted and I over heard mom telling grandma that rescue work with cats/kittens are on hold until further notice, something about needing to spend more time with all of us and something about finances.  Mom is retiring from the Air Force this year and wants to pay down some bills instead of putting that money towards cats.  Heck, I could have built a dog mansion with the money she pumped into those critters.  She has a big heart and that is why I am patient with her!

The other day mom get a letter from Auburn University Veternary department, she curiously opened it up and she read it to me.  My vet sent a small donation to them in Lady II's name.  Mom is going to frame the letter and also send a couple of pictures back to the university so they can meet Lady II.

Lastly, mom picked up on my signals that I am ready for a brother or sister.  We completed an application with ColliesFloridaRescue.  Paws crossed.  I told mom, no one younger than 5 and to be fair to her I said no older than 8 years old.

Mom took me to the vet today.  I was supposed to get xrays to check the status of my arthritis but the doc convinced mom my teeth cleaning was more important.  I had lots of blood work, a little landscaping down below, nails trimmed and mom asked the doc to look at a cyst on my tail.  Have to wait for the results.  I'm not as lucky as Lady II with mine just being fluid.  All I know is mom said she can never eat hamburger helper again after the doc described what came out of it.  He says regardless of what it comes back he is going to cut it out while I am sleeping from my teeth cleaning in 2 weeks.
We got my sister back today too.  She is under the Christmas tree right now.  Mom is happy because she has both of us home again.

Last Day with my sister

Mom was downloading pictures from her camera and showed me these.  I wanted to share with all of you the last night my sister and I sepnt together.  It's funny because we are sitting opposite and mom always said we were day and night, good and bad, ying and yang.  I guess this is the proof :)  At least we both looked at the same time and then turned away at the same time, and that was unplanned!
