Its been a while since we posted anything and we will soon, but mom wanted us to share a blessing and prayer to the Houston Collie Rescue.
For those who have not been following, what was to be a rescue of 35 collies turned out to be 67, then 93 and up to 120 once all puppies were born. All from one property! The Houston Collie Rescue and many angel volunteers have been working round the clock in caring for these collies.
Today was a victory for the collies an the HCR, the judge awarded them all the collies and cuffs were slapped on their hoarder.
As she was being cuffed she fessed up that there were even more collies. When she learned she was losing all of her dogs she hid some on property of family members. Thankfully she spoke up and another 19 collies were rescued along with 6 cats.
Tonight we say a prayer for 139 collies and the many volunteers watching over them. We pray they have a speedy recovery to healthy, happy collies and find furever families.
Mom says she has already been in cotact with the HCR to foster any age and/or adopt one or two senior collies. All though we are complete here as a family, paws are crossed that we can help some seniors live out the restof their lives surrounded by love.
LIVE, LOVE, COLLIE :)

Lad called back home 10 Jun
Hi all, its been a while since we have been on line. Mom hasn't been up to getting on the blog and I have been begging her to let me on and share some sad news about a collie we never met. His name is Lad and he was from Kentucky. If you haven't heard of him, please visit the Arrow Fund website to learn about the pawsome work they do and how they saved Lad.
He was ruffly 8 months old and his owner shot him 3 times in his face. The good people of Arrow Fund got him to the pet hospital right away. He lost his lower jaw and was sent to USC to see about getting a new one. After beating a bone infection, it looked like he was going to get a new jaw but the Lord called him home to have his original and healed one.
The day he passed, mom cried a lot and hugged Gracie and I so tightly. She tells us every night that she loves us, hugs us and kisses us. She told us that Lad was saved only knowing abuse but went back to heaven knowing love.
Mom says we are going to Kentucky for his abusers trial, 25 Aug. She says she wants to have as many collies and their humans there as possible to show the the people to support and love Lad had. Personally, I cant wait to sniff all the collie butts (hehehe).
Anyway, here are a few pictures in memory of Lad.

New Guy in Town
Bark to all, I am the new Jaeger. I came to my final home with the name Prince Charming. My new mom said I needed a better name and boy did she pick a long name. I am now Prince Loki of Oak Hammock. That's right, that entire name is mine. Thankfully mom says my short name is Loki. Mom kept Prince for 2 reasons, one to honor my first human who named me and kept me safe for 3 months and the second is because a prince leads his people and I have already started showing Gracie how to be a collie. Loki comes from the Marvel Comics and Mythology. Loki in the Marvel comics is a shape shifter. Mom says I am a magician, dancer, high jumper, clown and a teacher. In mythology Loki is the God of Mischief and I have only began getting into things.
So a little about me. I am just a year old. Since I don't know my actual birthday and mom doesn't either, she has decided my birthday is the day I came home - 5 May. Don't tell Gracie but she is doing the same with Gracie, so Gracie's birthday will be in Feb for now on. Back to me, I love to jump on people to give proper greetings. I love to get on the counter and steal any and all food that is left on the counter. I enjoy looking out the window and barking at everything and everyone that goes by. Mom says I remind her of another collie Essex, who is in heaven. I like to run in my new back yard and have been searching hard for ways to escape out. I love to run!
I love my new mom, she is pawsome. So nice, she let me pee on everything when I first entered the house but she only let me do it once though. She is also so caring and giving. She has already taken me to the vet and I checked out healthy and got my vaccinations. She also mentioned that there is a special appointment coming up called neutering. Neutering, that word sounds like fun, I cant wait for my neuter appointment.
The only thing I don't like is there are these 2 cats that are always trying to get me. The big one has already got me once but mom says its because he is an old man. This cat is huge too, he is the size of a poodle. Gracie told me he is something called a Maine Coon, what ever that means. There is the neighbors cat that comes over and he likes to rub all over me so I know not all cats are buttheads.
I attached my name announcement picture that mom made for our facebook friends. several of them had a hand in picking Loki. I can't wait to carry on the tradition of Lady I and Lady II with the blog. I hear both the Ladies were very special to mom and now Gracie and I are special for her. Until we chat again, Bark Bark!

Happy 5th Birthday to Me
Today is my 5th Birthday, or so my human thinks. That is OK with me because I got a yummy cupcake and the best birthday gift a girl could ask for...a brother! Mom will announce his name tomorrow to all but for now he came to us today with the name Prince...remember, even Prince changed his name so we are changing his too. I will let him blog tomorrow because tonight it is all about me because ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!

In Loving Memory
The other day, while looking at her computer, I saw mommy in tears. I went to her to see if I could help, looked at the screen and it was a portrait of my best friend and her sister. A fellow collie lover mom knows through a FB group made this for her.
The PAWSOME man is Fiorenzo Finocchiaro in Italy. Molte Grazie!!

Puppy Training at age 5
Despite the loss of Lady, I went to my first training class at PetSmart yesterday. I really wasn't up to it but mom was excited to get my training going and it was scheduled before Lady left us. I was the only adult in the class and all I have to say is, I know I was never that obnoxious at that age. I mostly laid there until it was my turn to demonstrate "sit" and "watch me". That first class was mostly for mom, considering I already knew how to sit and watch. My teacher is taking a special interest in me because of my history of being abused and used as a puppy mill dog. She is going to help me over come my fear and trust issues. I will get mom to take some pictures at the next class. I have to go and help mom learn more about sitting and watching, we have to practice it 5 times a day until my next class on Thursday.
Thanks again for all the words, prayers and support you have shown my mom and I. Mom is handling the loss better than me but I am handling it better than my Grandma Grace. She needs more time.
Love you all and Sherman - my mom had better get me down to see you soon or she is going to "watch me".

Another Collie got her wings
It is with extreme sadness that I share the news of Lady's passing this evening. I asked her to hold on yesterday so that we could have her 14th Birthday Party and she did. She joins her sister, Lady II, and her Key West buds, Deacon and Essex.
Gracie is a little confused as to why everyone was crying and where Lady is.

Early Birthday Party
Mom decided to move the clocks up to March 7th so Lady could celebrate her 14th Birthday. Mom has been worried about Lady this week. She has stopped eating and has even been throwing up what she does eat.
Mom says she hopes Lady can cross the Rainbow Bridge on her own where she will be greeted with face licks from Lady II, Deacon and essex (all who I never met). Mom told me that if Lady's health continues to decline she may have to help her over to the other side by the week's end. I will keep you all posted.
Happy 14th Birthday Lady, I hope I am as beautiful as you when I turn 14. I will always love you!

My pawfriend, Essex, was called to Heaven
It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of my pawfriend Essex from Key West. She was my first collie friend in Key West and she always made me and my human laugh. You see, she would run back and forth at the dog park as if on patrol. She made sure no scooters, golf carts, skate boards, bikes, and loud trucks came into the park. Base regulars knew her and those who rode/drove one of the mentioned would get her reved up. I am glad mom took me to Key West a couple of years ago. With my age and failing health, I will see Essex, Deacon (Essex brother) and my sister Lady II soon. With the way Essex guarded the dog park, I know she is guarding the the gates of heaven and I am glad she liked me :)
Group pictures of Me, Deacon, Essex and Lady II. Maybe God can take a group picture of us after I cross over and I can send it to my mom and Joe (Deacon and Essex dad)
RIP Deacon, Lady II and Essex. Save me a soft cloud near a big bowl of ice cubes!
Love you always,
Lady (I)

Lady Update
Very proud of Lady. Yesterday was the first day in months that she attempted to run and play with our human and me. Today she went on a long walk with me and mom (long for her, short for us). Mom got bad news last Friday when taking Lady to get weighed. Lady had lost a pound instead of gaining. She is down to 58 lbs now, but with this new energy and another new diet, we are hopeful that this Friday's weigh in will be good news. Paws crossed!

Happy Collieween
Lady and I wanted to wish you all a safe and howling good time but stay away from the candy, it will make you ill and then you will have to go see the doctors. Love Gracie

Panama City with mom
Mom and I came down to Panama City Friday afternoon to have a mini vacation as a celebration for mom retiring from the Air Force. I went to the bay today and was a little freaked out. It was my first time walking on a a path of boards and seeing huge floating things in the water. Mom kept assuring me it was safe to walk on the boards which she called a board walk and that the huge floating things were called fishing boats. She said I had better get use to seeing those things because I am going to Key west with her on her next trip down.
Mom and Grandma are worried about Lady too. The vet told mom that lady has lost to much weight and muscle mass in her hind legs. I have to stop eating her food now. Lady is on a rice, ground beef and gravy diet now and I am still stuck eating dog food. That's ok because they can't keep me from her food all the time :0
Anyway, here is a picture for you Deacon, hope you like it.

Lady Update II
Hey all, sorry no pictures but my human paw is coming tomorrow to fix my computer so I can attach pictures. Until then, I wanted to let everyone know I am doing good. I sleep a lot and I am in a lot of pain but I make sure mom knows I am not ready to meet up with Lady II.
A few weeks ago my human mom noticed I was walking funny, funnier than I do with stiff legs. She noticed my claws needed trimming and she can't do it - the big wuss - so she took me to the vet for them to do it. Anyway, that is when the smart vet noticed one of my claws had grown to the side and inward and...ding ding ding...we had a winner! I have to go back this week so they can trim more. They couldn't get it all in one shot.
Before I sign off, Gracie and I wanted to wish our dear friend Essex (who is lucky to live in the Keys still) a belated Happy Barkday. I remember my 10th barkday, I felt so young.
Today is our Human Mom's barkday and Gracie was nice enough to leave her gift on the carpet this morning. Gracie is such a butt sniffer, she is always leaving mom gifts. Mom says she is 29 years old for the 12th time. To me, that adds up to OLD!
Good night all, can't wait to see everyone dressed up for Collieween!

Lady update
Lady is getting around better today. She is still drinking water like she has not had it in years and she does need help standing at times but I am happy that she is not falling over right now.

Not Doing Well
Hey guys, it's me Lady. I am not doing so good these days and I wanted to jump on before I can't anymore. I'm not in much pain, put I don't have the strength to get around anymore. I can barely get enough strength to get up and move. Mom has been great helping me get up on my feet but I don't get to far without my legs coming out from under me. Lady II had this problem towards the end. It's not easy getting older and I trust in my humans they will do what is best for me and them. Gracie has been so sweet. She has been by my side most of the days. She doesn't leave my side when I try to get up until I do. She is going to miss me soon. I have come to love her and she has a lot of learning to do still. Mom helped me get outside and sit under a tree yesterday (before the storms). I got a huge bowl of ice water to my self and just let the heat work some magic on these bones. It helped enough for me to get a comfortable position to sleep in for the afternoon. Mom says she will keep all updated on me because I may not be able to get on again. I just wanted to tell all my friends out there that I miss running and playing at the park but I will be back with Lady II soon.

Grandma Makes Me Sick
Grandma keeps making me sick by feeding me can food. I LOVE the can food but my belly.
Mom had to yell at Grandma because when I reeeeeeally want the can food I put on a good act. I don't touch my dry food until Grandma feels sorry for me and comes with the can. It works every time (wink and grin)!
Mom told me to tell you "Happy to say no more piles in the house", what ever that means. She knows she liked picking it up because after she does she would yell at Grandma (she does that a lot) and baby me. So when I think about it, this is a special bonding time for the two of them. She will thank me later!!
Gracie
P.S. Hi Sherman, mom showed me more pictures of you and all I have to say is "how you doin'"

Me, Gracie again
Hi all. Well I have been with my new humans for almost 4 months. I think I like these people. They get so excited when I do new things.
I have been terrified of men, mostly white men with facial hair, but the other day at the bark park I felt safe enough to let two different men pat me. Mom was crazy happy, even took a picture. It's on her phone though and she hasn't downloaded the pictures.
The next day, she took me to the Blueberry Festival in Wellborn FL. She let me go at my own pace to. Didn't force me anywhere. She was so patient, so well trained. I was doing paw-some until something called a live band came on and scared the fleas off of me. Mom knew that was to stressful and we wag-tailed it out of there.
I had to remind mom, baby steps. She said she want me ready for the Hahira Honey Bee Festival and she even bought me this ugly bumble bee tu-tu. She must be licking the catnip if she thinks I am going out in public like that.
Mom wants me to let all of you know that Lady is doing purrfect. She has trouble getting up and around but heck she is a senior. I hope I look that great when I am her age. Mom also promised me I can post pictures the next time I get on. Until then, woof you all!

Amazing Gracie
Hi all! Lady and Mom thought it was time for me to introduce myself. My new name is Gracie. I met my new mom and gramma on the 19th of February. They answered an add for a fixed male collie and boy did I surprise them. I'm a girl and not fixed. Mom had to call her friend Joe because she was worried I was the missing collie Dixie. I tried to tell her but she had to learn it on her own. Here is what I looked like when I first came to my new home. I was terrified of everything inlcuding this short little thing mom has lots of, something called cats.
I had a skin infection and worms so mom took me to the vet to get all better.

I am coming around now, and liking these humans, I just might stay here with them. They need me!
That is all I got today. I just wanted to introduce myself to all of Lady's friends. I hear mom may try and take a short trip to Key West to meet Essex and Sherman. I hope so because I saw pictures of Sherman and he is pawsomely cute (don't tell him though, I don't want him to think I am some sort of stalker).
I will leave you with pictures of how happy I look now.
